27/08/10 - New Lotus Evora ‘S’ ... Grunty!

The Evora already seems to be making a fair few friends (and its a pretty thing, so why shouldn’t it?), but now we expect it to make a few more, with the ‘S’ Model. A power increase from the stock 276hp to a grunty 345hp, as well as the inclusion of the “Sport” pack. Good news is, its still not exactly a heavyweight by modern standards, coming in at a respectable 1436Kg. A new paddle shift gearbox is added to the line up also, read more at the link below.

12/08/10 - Goodbye Civic Type-R ... For now anyway.

Euro regulations, aren’t they great? Not content with killing the last of the ‘ZZ powered Elise and Exige models, now they have their sights on the 8500 RPM Civic Type-R, for which UK sales end in December. Isn’t it nice to live in a free world? We shall miss the Type-R, but of all its parts, mostly we’ll miss the engine... And its VTEC bark.

28/07/10 - Zonda ‘ring record ... Now on YouTube.

Awesome interior footage of the Zonda R breaking the “fastest-road-derived-car” record around the amazing Nurburgring Nordschleife, well worth a watch. There’s another few tenths to be had from that too, owed to a couple of mis-shifts... Will Ferrari be back soon to reclaim the record?

20/07/10 - Play the guessing game ... With Lotus.

Lotus have made a press release that gives little away about its future - but assures us only that it’ll be worth the wait. We suspect its the new Esprit, and possibly a crazy hyper car of some kind. Only time will tell.

09/07/10 - New Lotus. New Cars. New Dealers?

Big news for Lotus dealers, the network is undergoing a big shake up, Lotus Cars has given all of its Euro dealers until July 2012, from then on they have to reapply for franchise. But, the new product line up looks good...

08/07/10 - Fiat goes two-pot.

Fiat have announced a (crazy, but amazing) new engine for its 500 model, a 0.9 litre (900cc!) two cylinder turbo engine, offering up 85hp with staggeringly good fuel consumption to boot. The link below also contains a video press release where the little thing even manages to sound quite fruity too... Well done Fiat, power and economy - nice!

08/07/10 - Bugatti takes it back from the SSC Ultimate Aero...

The awesome Bugatti Veyron has reclaimed its speed crown from American supercar the Shelby Super Cars SSC Ultimate Aero (quite some mouthful!), recording an interstellar 267 Mph average over two runs at the Volkswagen owned Ehra-Lessien facility. One word - stonking.

01/07/10 - Zonda claims new ‘ring record.

Auto maker Pagani are (re)claiming the title of “fastest-road-derived-car” (from the Ferrari 599XX) around the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife. While it may be “Road-Derived”, we suspect it’s not really something you’d use for your weekly shop, regardless - we’d give it a go, and congratulate Pagani for a job well done.
